Erste Group has launched its tender offer for the former Santander Bank Polska as it seeks majority control of the Polish lender, according to Reuters. The Austrian bank announced the launch on Friday, October 30, with subscriptions starting on Tuesday, November 3.
Erste Group currently owns 49 percent of the Polish bank, which it acquired from Banco Santander and rebranded earlier in 2026. The offer seeks to lift the holding above 50 percent and could cover as much as an additional 26 percent of the shares. Erste has said the transaction would not take its stake above 75 percent, leaving at least 25 percent in free float.
Ownership And Earnings In Focus
The subscription period is scheduled to remain open for 30 days, subject to a possible extension under applicable rules. Settlement is expected in December 2026 if shareholder participation and the required conditions are sufficient. The final acceptance level will determine how much additional control Erste gains over the lender.
