Siemens and Siemens Healthineers announced on Thursday, November 5, 2026, that the healthcare subsidiary will change its name to Healthineers as part of its planned separation from Siemens. The joint announcement gives Siemens a clearer industrial technology profile while setting a formal milestone for the proposed 2027 spin-off.

Siemens stock traded at 278.80 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:08 CET on Thursday, November 5, 1.14 percent above the Xetra close of Wednesday, November 4. The real-time quote of Siemens stock provides the latest market indication.

Healthineers prepares independent future

The proposal would make Healthineers the future name of Siemens Healthineers after deconsolidation. The company said the name change must be approved at the Siemens Healthineers annual shareholders' meeting. The planned spin-off itself is also scheduled to go before the annual shareholders' meetings of both companies in February 2027.

The legal separation will be completed when the spin-off is entered in the German Commercial Register. Only after that step is expected to come the brand migration. Siemens and Healthineers agreed a three-year transition period to support the re-registration of legal entities and products, so the change will unfold gradually rather than through an immediate switch.

Siemens CEO Roland Busch said the move reflects Healthineers' development into a global healthcare leader and sharpens Siemens' profile as a company that scales industrial AI in the real world. The statement links that strategy to Siemens' combination of physical and digital technologies across industry, infrastructure, mobility and healthcare.

Portfolio change matters for investors

For Siemens investors, the announcement separates two strategic questions. Healthineers would gain a distinct identity and shareholder structure, while Siemens would place greater emphasis on industrial businesses and applications that connect the real and digital worlds. The transaction remains subject to shareholder approval and the subsequent legal steps.

Siemens said its fiscal 2025, which ended on September 30, 2025, generated revenue of 78.9 billion euros and net income of 10.4 billion euros. The group employed around 318,000 people on a continuing-operations basis at that date. Healthineers generated around 23.6 billion euros of revenue in the fiscal year ended September 30, 2026, according to the joint release.

The Siemens Healthineers press release sets out the proposed timetable and the three-year brand transition. It does not make the transaction unconditional: the February votes and the commercial-register entry remain key milestones for the separation.
