TC Energy strengthened its growth narrative during the week as third-quarter performance supported higher guidance and new pipeline investments broadened its contracted project base.

On Thursday, November 5, TC Energy reported comparable EBITDA of C$3.0 billion for the third quarter, up from C$2.7 billion a year earlier. Comparable earnings reached C$0.94 per common share, compared with C$0.77 in the prior-year quarter, according to the company's third-quarter results release.

Higher guidance meets project expansion

TC Energy raised its 2026 comparable EBITDA outlook to C$11.8 billion to C$12.0 billion and said comparable EBITDA could grow at a compound annual rate of 5% to 7% from 2026 through 2031. The company attributed the stronger outlook to operating performance, settlement outcomes and projects placed into service ahead of schedule and below budget.

A separate report by Offshore Technology, published by Yahoo Finance, said TC Energy approved approximately C$3 billion of in-corridor growth projects on Friday, November 6. The Crossroads Expansion is designed to add 1.4 billion cubic feet per day of capacity for U.S. Midwest power demand, while the American Midwest project would add 1 billion cubic feet per day to the Northern Border system.

The company also approved the C$4.9 billion Coastal GasLink Phase 2 Expansion after LNG Canada and its partners reached a positive final investment decision. Five compressor stations and related facility changes are expected to raise firm transportation capacity by approximately 2 billion cubic feet per day.

Execution remains the next test

Investors will weigh the higher long-term outlook against construction timing, capital discipline and demand from power generation and LNG facilities. The projects are supported by long-term take-or-pay contracts, but their benefits depend on delivery toward the targeted service dates.
