Telkom Indonesia expanded its digital-security agenda on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, by signing two memorandums of understanding on post-quantum readiness. The company said the agreements with Indonesia's National Cyber and Crypto Agency, known as BSSN, and Peruri form part of the Quantum-Safe Indonesia initiative with Danantara Indonesia.
The official Telkom Indonesia announcement says the cooperation will explore cryptographic asset discovery, post-quantum readiness assessments, migration tools, cryptographic agility and digital-trust capabilities.
Management Frames Long-Term Readiness
Telkom President Director Nanang Hendarno described quantum technology as a long-term preparedness issue for Indonesia's digital ecosystem. He said the cooperation is intended to help organizations understand their cryptographic assets, assess readiness and prepare mitigation steps in a more structured way.
BSSN is preparing a phased migration framework covering preparation, asset inventories, quantum-risk assessment, migration planning, implementation, cryptographic agility, monitoring and evaluation. Telkom is expected to support technology development and capability integration, while Peruri contributes digital-trust, identity and cybersecurity expertise.
Commercial Impact Remains Open
The memorandums provide a strategic framework rather than a binding commercial contract. Technical mechanisms, scope, commercial models and operational responsibilities still require further discussion and may be set out in definitive agreements. For investors, the announcement therefore points to a potential digital-security development area, not confirmed revenue.
