Texas Instruments stock adds two connectivity products for factory automation and robotics. One is available now, while the second is due by year-end.

New tools target factory connectivity

  • Texas Instruments introduced a multiprotocol communications module and a dual-channel IO-Link master for automation, robotics and industrial IoT systems.
  • The module supports EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP and Profinet, while the IO-Link device connects sensors and actuators with higher-level industrial networks.
  • Preproduction quantities of the IO-Link master are available now, and the module is scheduled for availability by year-end 2026.
  • Texas Instruments plans demonstrations at electronica in Munich from November 10 to 13.

Texas Instruments announced two industrial communication devices on Thursday, November 5, expanding its offering for factory automation, robotics and industrial Internet of Things systems. The company presented the products as a way to simplify connections across sensors, machines and control networks.

Morningstar, carrying the company release from PR Newswire, said the TICS100MOD is a multiprotocol communications system-on-module. It supports EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP and Profinet on one hardware platform, allowing engineers to switch protocols through a firmware update rather than redesigning the hardware.

The second product, the TIOM2212, is a dual-channel IO-Link master. It is designed to connect sensors and actuators with higher-level Industrial Ethernet networks and works with Texas Instruments' Sitara industrial networking system-on-chip family and AM13Ex real-time microcontrollers through an integrated frame handler. Texas Instruments said the approach can reduce design complexity and costs when linking field devices with factory control systems.

Availability sets the next milestones

Preproduction quantities of the TIOM2212 are available through TI.com. The TICS100MOD is scheduled to become available by the end of 2026, giving customers access to the field-device component before the broader multiprotocol module reaches the market.

Texas Instruments will demonstrate the technology at electronica in Munich from Tuesday, November 10, through Friday, November 13. The demonstrations will focus on multiprotocol Industrial Ethernet, IO-Link, neural processing units and time-sensitive networking.

Texas Instruments stock traded at 253.15 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 15:42 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 3.12 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, November 5. Investors will weigh the product expansion against the company's broader industrial and semiconductor demand outlook.
