- Early household humanoid robots are offered for USD 20,000, according to the company release.
Tokio Marine Holdings (ISIN JP3910660004) is extending its robot-insurance business into household coverage in the United Kingdom. According to the Tokio Marine HCC release dated October 29, 2026, its international subsidiary and Adrian Flux will launch the UK's first domestic humanoid robot household insurance policy.
The announcement adds a clear commercial use case to Tokio Marine's emerging robotics offering. The policy is available through Adrian Flux's home-insurance product and is underwritten by Tokio Marine HCC International, according to the company.
What the new cover adds
The policy protects the robot against damage and theft, while also covering sudden damage to the home or belongings. It includes personal liability when a humanoid robot injures someone or damages property, the Tokio Marine HCC said.
Emergency recovery and safe disablement after an unforeseen malfunction are also covered. That combination moves beyond insuring equipment alone and links the product to household property and personal-risk protection.
What this means for the business
The product addresses a market that is still forming. The company said early household humanoid robots are available for open pre-order at USD 20,000, while domestic robots are expected to enter UK homes from 2027.
For Tokio Marine, the announcement shows how specialty insurance can be attached to a new hardware category before mass adoption. The policy also gives the group a way to gather claims experience across equipment damage, property losses and personal liability.
