Tourmaline Oil released its third-quarter results on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The Canadian natural gas producer reported stronger earnings and raised its 2027 free cash flow outlook, according to the CNW Group release published by Yahoo Finance.

Net earnings reached CAD 641.5 million, or CAD 1.64 per diluted share, compared with CAD 190.4 million, or CAD 0.49 per share, a year earlier. Cash flow rose to CAD 788.3 million, while quarterly free cash flow was CAD 60.2 million. Revenue from commodity sales and realized gains increased 3 percent to CAD 1.52 billion.

Higher production expected ahead

Average third-quarter production was 593,730 barrels of oil equivalent per day, below the company's guidance range after storage injections and deferred well start-ups. Tourmaline said current production is averaging 630,000 to 635,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and expects fourth-quarter production of 635,000 to 645,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

The company expects approximately 80 new wells to come on production in the fourth quarter. An unplanned outage at a third-party gas processing facility in Northeast British Columbia is expected to reduce fourth-quarter volumes by approximately 3,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Cash flow supports shareholder returns

Tourmaline plans CAD 2.6 billion of exploration and production capital spending in 2027. At current strip pricing, management estimates 2027 free cash flow of CAD 1.8 billion, 71 percent above its July estimate. The outlook could support higher base dividends, continued share repurchases and potential special dividends, although those allocations remain subject to market conditions and board decisions.

The board intends to declare a quarterly base dividend of CAD 0.525 per share in December, payable on December 31, 2026, to shareholders of record on December 15. Tourmaline also said it bought 1.3 million of its shares between September 23 and October 9 at an average price of CAD 61.88.

Infrastructure remains a key catalyst

The Aitken c-38-C deep-cut gas processing expansion was completed on schedule and has entered start-up operations. Tourmaline expects the new infrastructure to support production growth, while a planned pause between phases of the Northeast British Columbia Montney buildout is intended to let shareholders capture operational and free cash flow benefits before further expansion.
