The Travelers Companies has launched an artificial intelligence tool designed to speed up workers compensation quotes for independent insurance agents serving small businesses. In a Travelers investor release dated October 28, the insurer said Travis Upload & Go can generate a bindable quote in half the time.
Automation addresses a costly workflow
Agents can upload ACORD applications, standard industry forms and handwritten notes. The tool extracts information, prefills account and policy fields and runs eligibility checks automatically before producing a quote.
Travelers said an August survey of more than 150 small business insurance agents found that 77% considered manual data entry one of the most time-consuming and least valuable parts of their work. Fifty-four percent said they spent at least one-quarter of their workday on that task.
The tool is available to independent agents through Travis, Travelers' rate, quote and issue platform for small business insurance policies. The productivity benefit could support agent relationships and shorten the path from submission to quote, although the release does not quantify any effect on premiums or earnings.
