Wealth Management Drives Momentum
Global Wealth Management generated USD 55.1 billion in net new assets during the quarter, equivalent to a 4.5 percent annualized growth rate. UBS said inflows were positive across all regions, with APAC and the Americas leading the contribution. Invested assets for the group reached USD 7.3 trillion.
Underlying revenue in Global Wealth Management increased 8 percent year over year to USD 6.898 billion. Recurring net fee income rose 9 percent, while net interest income increased 8 percent. Across the group, reported revenue reached USD 13.35 billion, up 5 percent from the year-earlier quarter.
Buyback Timing Moves Forward
UBS repurchased USD 1.8 billion of shares during the quarter and said it plans to complete the existing USD 3 billion program by the time it reports fourth-quarter results. The pace remains subject to short-term performance, the outlook, a CET1 capital ratio near 14 percent and the Swiss debate over the capitalization of foreign subsidiaries.
The bank ended September with a CET1 capital ratio of 14.7 percent and a CET1 leverage ratio of 4.6 percent. Management also continued to accrue for dividend growth in the mid-teens percentage range. UBS plans to disclose its 2027 capital-return ambitions with its fourth-quarter and full-year results in February 2027.
Integration Nears Completion
The Credit Suisse integration remains a further operating focus. UBS said it delivered an additional USD 0.6 billion in gross cost savings during the quarter, taking cumulative gross savings to USD 13.2 billion. The bank now expects total savings of USD 13.7 billion by the end of 2026, above its previous ambition of USD 13.5 billion. Around 90 percent of legacy applications in scope had been fully decommissioned by September 30.
For the fourth quarter, UBS expects a more typical seasonal moderation in transaction volumes. It expects Global Banking revenue to increase sequentially, assuming constructive markets, while net interest income should rise at a low-single-digit sequential rate in Global Wealth Management in Swiss franc terms. For investors, the next key markers are the pace of the remaining buyback, the Swiss capital-rule process and the February capital-return update.
