- October revenue growth outpaced the January-to-October increase.
- The monthly figures indicate demand but do not include a new earnings forecast.
- Capacity expansion keeps execution, equipment availability and pricing discipline in focus.
United Microelectronics reported stronger October sales on Thursday, November 5, while the latest Lang & Schwarz quote stood 1.65 percent above the quote cited in the previous report. The company's unaudited monthly figures point to firmer demand, but they do not yet show the effect on profitability.
October sales accelerate
According to the Morningstar report carrying the Business Wire release, UMC's consolidated October revenue rose 18.33 percent year over year to NT$25,197,532 thousand from NT$21,294,974 thousand. Sales for January through October reached NT$229,207,213 thousand, up 16.33 percent from NT$197,038,628 thousand in the same period of 2025.
The monthly release covers sales rather than earnings. It provides an operating-demand signal, but it does not establish how much of the increase will reach the bottom line or introduce a new earnings forecast.
Capacity remains the next test
UMC serves connectivity, automotive, power-management and other electronics markets through mature and specialty semiconductor processes. Planned capacity additions increase the importance of execution, equipment availability and pricing discipline as investors assess whether the stronger sales run rate can persist.
UMC stock traded at 12.35 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:01 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. The quote was 1.65 percent above the 12.15-euro quote at 16:39 CET on Thursday, November 5, cited in the previous report.
