Unipol stock advances as rights auction enters final settlement

Unipol said on October 28, 2026, that the first session of its Euronext Milan rights auction had sold all 11,321,451 pre-emptive rights that had not been exercised during the main subscription period. The early sale removed the second planned market session for the remaining rights. Buyers had to exercise the rights and subscribe for the related new shares by October 29, with the company stating that the new shares would be credited at the end of that date. The rights represented about 1.58 percent of the new shares resulting from the capital increase.

The main subscription period had already ended on October 26 with 98.42 percent of the offer subscribed. Unipol reported proceeds of EUR 2.46 billion from subscriptions for 119,663,430 new shares, while the subscription price was EUR 20.56 per new share. The transaction is intended to support the planned acquisition of 635 branches from Monte dei Paschi di Siena.
