United Parcel Service is entering the 2026 holiday shipping season with fewer low-margin Amazon packages and a stronger focus on premium volume. The shift follows the companys third-quarter results and the outlook presented on October 27.
UPSs earnings release said third-quarter revenue increased 6.7% to USD 22.9 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings per share reached USD 1.69, while reported diluted earnings per share was USD 1.37. The quarter included a USD 279 million net charge tied mainly to transformation costs and a Supply Chain Solutions goodwill impairment.
What changed since the last report
The company lifted its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to approximately USD 92.6 billion from USD 91.2 billion previously. Adjusted operating profit is expected at approximately USD 8.75 billion, adjusted diluted earnings per share at approximately USD 7.28 and adjusted free cash flow at approximately USD 6.1 billion.
Transport Topics reported on October 27 that CEO Carol Tomé expects fourth-quarter U.S. average daily volume to decline year over year because UPS deliberately reduced low-margin Amazon shipments.
