Valeura Energy reported an on-plan third quarter on October 7, 2026, while adding new milestones to its Thailand portfolio. Operations remain on plan
Valeura sold 2.013 million barrels of oil during the quarter at an average realised price of US$97.4 per barrel, generating revenue of US$196.1 million. The release identifies these figures as preliminary and unaudited. Revenue included a US$22.5 million receivable for oil sold shortly before the end of September, with collection expected early in the fourth quarter.
The third-quarter production rate was broadly consistent with the company's plan and supports its full-year 2026 guidance expectations, according to President and CEO Sean Guest. Management also highlighted that Valeura carries no hedging, allowing it to capture the effect of prevailing oil prices, while noting the support from its fiscal structure and historical tax losses.
Thailand pipeline gains depth
During the quarter, Valeura reported an exploration discovery on Block G1/48, where it operates with a 90% working interest. The company calls the discovery the Suraphi oil field and says it could extend the productive life of the nearby Manora field and create additional exploration and development opportunities.
Valeura also reached a final investment decision on the first phase of the Bussabong gas field on Block G3/65. The company holds a planned 40% non-operated interest, subject to completion of the assignment after Thai cabinet approval. The project gives Valeura an additional gas development track alongside its producing oil assets.
Wassana sets the next catalyst
Onshore construction of the Wassana central processing platform on Block G10/48 was completed on October 1, 2026. The jacket and platform were loaded onto vessels for transport and field installation, while the company planned to begin development drilling late in 2026. Valeura said its accelerated redevelopment schedule, about two months ahead of the original plan, remained on track and that first oil was expected around the beginning of the second quarter of 2027.
For shareholders, the update combines steady near-term production with a stronger balance sheet and several longer-term project milestones. The main execution tests are the Wassana installation and drilling program, the progression of Suraphi appraisal and development decisions, and the formalisation of the Bussabong gas project.
