Vertiv reported a sharp acceleration in its business on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, and raised its full-year forecast across key metrics. In its investor release, the company said third-quarter net sales rose to USD 4.313 billion from USD 2.676 billion a year earlier.
The increase reflected 55 percent organic growth and an approximately 6 percent contribution from acquisitions. Growth was broad based: Americas sales increased 75 percent, Asia-Pacific sales rose 50 percent and Europe, the Middle East and Africa advanced 23 percent. Organic orders grew by more than 100 percent year over year, giving management greater visibility into demand for power, cooling and other data-center infrastructure.
Margins and cash flow strengthen
Operating profit climbed 90 percent to USD 983.8 million. Adjusted operating profit, a non-GAAP measure that excludes specified items such as amortization, contingent consideration and acquisition costs, rose 83 percent to USD 1.087 billion. The adjusted operating margin widened to 25.2 percent from 22.3 percent, supported by operating leverage and manufacturing productivity, although Vertiv also cited mix effects and continued growth investments.
GAAP diluted earnings per share increased to USD 1.95 from USD 1.02. Adjusted diluted earnings per share rose to USD 2.21 from USD 1.24. Operating cash flow reached USD 794 million, while adjusted free cash flow increased to USD 652 million from USD 436 million, despite higher working capital and capital spending to support expansion.
Higher targets set for 2026
Vertiv now expects full-year net sales of USD 14.45 billion to USD 14.85 billion, with a midpoint of USD 14.65 billion. The midpoint is USD 650 million above the previous outlook. Adjusted diluted earnings per share are expected at USD 7.10 to USD 7.20, and adjusted free cash flow at USD 2.6 billion to USD 2.8 billion. The company expects organic sales growth of 37 percent to 39 percent and an adjusted operating margin of 23.5 percent to 24.5 percent.
For the fourth quarter, Vertiv guides to net sales of USD 4.313 billion to USD 4.513 billion, adjusted diluted earnings per share of USD 2.22 to USD 2.28 and an adjusted operating margin of 25.3 percent to 26.3 percent. Full-year capital expenditure remains expected at approximately 4 percent of revenue.
CEO Giordano Albertazzi said the infrastructure buildout is accelerating and that Vertiv is expanding capacity, improving productivity and shortening product development cycles. The company also expects strong AI-driven data-center demand and above-market organic growth in 2027, but has not issued full-year 2027 guidance.
