Incoming orders: € 55,715 thousand (previous year: € 42,776 thousand; +30.2 %)
Order backlog: € 37,963 thousand (previous year: € 23,405 thousand; +62.2 %)
Revenue: € 36,948 thousand (previous year: € 39,290 thousand; -6.0 %)
EBIT: € -2,533 thousand (previous year: € 52 thousand)
Hanover, 12 August 2026 – Viscom SE (ISIN DE0007846867), the European market leader in automated optical and X-ray inspection systems for the electronics industry, has shown a significant improvement in its operating performance in the first half of 2026, despite a market environment that remains challenging. Whilst the first quarter was still characterised by subdued investment activity, business performance gained noticeable momentum in the second quarter. Order intake, in particular, developed very positively and led to an upward revision of the annual forecast for order intake already in June. New orders rose by 30.2 % to € 55,715 thousand in the first half of 2026 (previous year: € 42,776 thousand). One of the key drivers of this growth was a major order in the field of inline CT inspection, specifically for applications in battery cell inspection. The order will predominantly be recognised as revenue in the 2027 financial year. The order book increased to € 37,963 thousand as at 30 June 2026, representing a rise of 62.2 % on the previous year’s figure (previous year: € 23,405 thousand) and almost doubling compared with the end of 2025 (€ 19,196 thousand). Consolidated turnover for the first half of 2026 amounted to € 36,948 thousand, compared with € 39,290 thousand in the previous year. This was primarily due to the weaker start to the year, which was in line with expectations. In the second quarter, however, revenue growth accelerated significantly: at € 22,588 thousand, quarterly revenue was 57.3 % higher than in the first quarter of 2026 (€ 14,360 thousand) and 15.8 % higher than in the second quarter of the previous year (previous year: € 19,501 thousand). Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) for the first half of 2026 stood at € -2,533 thousand (previous year: € 52 thousand), corresponding to an EBIT-Margin of -6.9 % (previous year: 0.1 %). This was primarily due to the still low level of revenue recognition in the first quarter, as well as a change in the product mix. Operating performance developed encouragingly in the second quarter: with a positive quarterly EBIT of € 1,461 thousand, the company returned to profitability at the operating level. However, this significant improvement was not yet sufficient to fully offset the negative result for the first quarter (€ -3,994 thousand) on a half-yearly basis. Demand varied from region to region. Whilst Europe continued to be characterised by a reluctance to invest, North America and Asia showed a significantly more dynamic trend. Viscom recorded particularly high demand for applications relating to AI hardware, battery cell manufacturing and aerospace & security. At the same time, Viscom is consistently driving forward technological development. The focus is particularly on AI-powered software solutions such as vAI ProVision, more powerful 3D X-ray inspection, new inspection systems for battery cell production, and the vConnect digital platform. Against the backdrop of a strong order book, improved demand trends and positive business momentum, the Executive Board of Viscom SE confirms its forecast for the 2026 financial year. Viscom expects target revenue of between € 80 million and € 90 million and order intake of between € 90 million and € 100 million. The EBIT-Margin is expected to be within a range of 2 % to 5 %. This corresponds to EBIT of between € 1.6 million and € 4.5 million. The structural drivers of growth remain intact. Investment in AI infrastructure, semiconductors and battery cell manufacturing, as well as the increasing automation of industrial production processes, open up attractive medium- and long-term growth prospects for Viscom.
