- IT services revenue reached USD 2.61 billion in the September quarter, flat sequentially in constant currency.
- Operating margin expanded to 16.5 percent, while net income declined sequentially after lower other income.
- Management expects third-quarter IT services revenue to range from USD 2.571 billion to USD 2.625 billion.
Wipro reported a broadly stable second quarter on October 15, 2026, but set a cautious near-term outlook as seasonal effects, healthcare weakness and delayed contracts weigh on the next quarter. The figures and management commentary were reported by MarketBeat at Yahoo Finance.
Wipro's IT services revenue totaled USD 2.61 billion in the quarter ended September 30. Revenue was flat from the preceding quarter on a constant-currency basis and increased 0.6 percent from a year earlier. The broader demand environment remained largely unchanged, according to Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Srinivas Pallia, with clients focused on productivity and increasingly on artificial intelligence adoption.
Margin Gains Meet Soft Demand
Operating margin rose 50 basis points sequentially to 16.5 percent. Chief Financial Officer Aparna Iyer attributed the improvement to operational measures and the rupee's depreciation, partly offset by continued investment in the business. Management continues to target a sustainable operating margin of 17 percent to 17.5 percent.
Net income was INR 32 billion, down 5 percent sequentially. The decline followed a 68 percent drop in net other income after the June 2026 buyback reduced the company's investable surplus. Operating cash flow equaled 166 percent of net income, while gross cash stood at USD 4.6 billion at September 30.
Bookings And Artificial Intelligence
Wipro closed total contract value of USD 2.6 billion and signed nine large deals during the quarter. Management said two contracts were delayed into the third quarter and expects stronger bookings as those agreements move forward. Pallia described the pipeline for the third and fourth quarters and the following year as extremely strong, although the current quarter's revenue guidance remains restrained.
The company's AI Native unit had more than 2,000 engineers and was working on deployments in banking, healthcare, manufacturing and other industries. Wipro also highlighted consulting-led transformation work, small language models and AI-enabled modernization projects as areas for future growth. These investments support the company's strategy but also create near-term spending demands.
Muted Third-Quarter Range
For the fiscal third quarter ending December 31, Wipro guided to IT services revenue of USD 2.571 billion to USD 2.625 billion. The range represents constant-currency sequential growth of minus 1.5 percent to plus 0.5 percent. Iyer said the outlook reflects customary seasonal client furloughs and fewer working days, while successful contract closures could support both third-quarter execution and the fourth-quarter revenue outlook.
Healthcare revenue fell 3.8 percent sequentially and 6.5 percent year over year in the second quarter. Americas 1 revenue declined 2.1 percent sequentially, while Europe, Americas 2 and the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region grew. Management said previously identified client-specific issues should be substantially resolved during the third quarter, but the guidance leaves limited room for broad-based acceleration.
