Zalando is tightening the leadership of its business-to-business operations as it brings logistics, software and services closer together. The company said on October 20 that Tom Christenson had joined as senior vice president for B2B, effective October 15, to lead the division's overall strategy. The appointment is the latest operational step in Zalando's plan to build an e-commerce operating system for fashion and lifestyle brands.

In its company announcement, Zalando said Christenson will work with the leadership teams of ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE. ZEOS gives brands access to Zalando's logistics network and services, Tradebyte connects brands and retailers with marketplaces and sales channels, while SCAYLE supports online shop operations.

One B2B structure for three platforms

Christenson reports to Co-CEO David Schröder and brings experience from Amazon, Uber Freight and TBAuctions. Zalando said he created Seller Fulfilled Prime at Amazon, built Uber Freight in Europe and most recently led the industrial marketplace TBAuctions as chief executive.

The B2B business generated more than 1 billion euros in revenue in 2025 and served more than 1,200 merchants, according to Zalando. The company said its partners can use individual services or combine them across content creation, insights, fulfilment, returns and multichannel expansion. For investors, the closer coordination of the three platforms could make the business easier to scale, although the announcement does not provide a new financial target.

The real-time quote of Zalando stock traded at 26.65 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:06 CEST on Friday, October 30, 0.41 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, October 29.
