Zalando has appointed Tom Christenson as senior vice president for B2B, strengthening the management team behind its logistics, software and services strategy. The company announced the move on October 20, while Christenson took up the role on October 15.

Zalando said Christenson will lead the overall B2B strategy and work with the teams at ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE. The three businesses cover logistics, marketplace connectivity and online shop infrastructure, allowing brands and retailers to select individual services or combine them into a broader operating system for cross-border commerce.

One structure for B2B growth

Christenson will report to co-CEO David Schröder and bring the three units closer together under a joint B2B leadership structure. Zalando said the setup is intended to offer brands and retailers an integrated approach across logistics, software and services, including fulfilment, returns, content creation, insights and multi-channel expansion.

The new executive joins after serving as chief executive of TBAuctions, a European B2B marketplace for industrial assets. Earlier in his career, he created Amazon's Seller Fulfilled Prime programme and built Uber Freight in Europe before helping lead its combination with sennder Technologies.

Schröder described Christenson as a strong fit for Zalando's plan to build an e-commerce operating system for the fashion and lifestyle industry. Christenson called the strategy visionary and said he would work with the team to develop the future of B2B at Zalando.

The division already has meaningful scale. Zalando said B2B revenue surpassed 1 billion euros in 2025 and that the business served more than 1,200 merchants. The company presents B2B and B2C as mutually reinforcing: its consumer reach makes the platform more attractive to brands, while greater use of its logistics and software services supports the broader platform.

Zalando stock traded at 27.11 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:34 CEST on Friday, October 30, 1.31 percent above the Xetra close of Thursday, October 29. The quote puts the market focus on whether the closer integration of ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE can convert Zalando's existing platform reach into further partner growth.
