The BNB price remained under scrutiny on November 1 after a security incident at Binance, the exchange closely associated with the token. Investing.com displayed BNB at 705.30 USD at 05:54:12 when the page was reviewed. The page showed a daily range of 702.00 to 706.10 USD, a market capitalization of 92.62 billion USD and 24-hour volume of 1.05 billion USD. It did not provide a dated UTC previous-day close, so no comparable daily percentage change is stated here.
Binance reports asset recovery
In a post dated October 30, the verified Binance News account said preliminary investigations indicated that a DevOps engineer's laptop may have been compromised. Binance estimated the total impact at approximately 6.3 billion USD, said around 3 billion USD had been frozen on-chain and stated that no evidence of wallet private-key leaks had been found so far. The company said it would cover losses through the Secure Asset Fund for Users and its own funds.
A subsequent Binance Square report on Security Incident Update #2 said approximately 80 percent of the affected assets had been replenished. It reported that more than 5 billion USD in corresponding tokens had been secured and that withdrawals were expected to resume by asset in stages over approximately 34 hours. The report also said Binance planned to publish a proof-of-reserves snapshot before November 2, subject to the completion of security checks.
Market risk remains event-driven
The incident adds exchange and custody risk to the factors shaping the BNB price. Reuters, in a report published by the New Straits Times, reported on October 30 that BNB had fallen more than 8 percent over the preceding 24 hours to 694 USD, citing CoinGecko. The same report said Binance had temporarily suspended withdrawals while conducting security checks and that Tether and Circle had frozen related assets.
For investors, the next observable milestones are the restoration of normal withdrawals, the proof-of-reserves disclosure and Binance's detailed technical post-mortem. Until those steps are completed, the token's close association with the exchange leaves sentiment sensitive to verified updates rather than to routine intraday price moves.
