Why did Bovespa fall after the election?
The index opened at 176,786 points after Monday's selloff, then moved between gains and losses. The day's high was 178,526 points and the low was 175,130 points, according to Reuters.
Investors focused on the implications of Lula's new mandate for fiscal policy, government spending and the composition of the economic team. The index weakened as the recovery in domestic shares failed to offset losses in major commodity companies.
