TCS profit rises 15 percent
Tata Consultancy Services was the leading named stock move, rising 4.98 percent in early trade, according to India Today. The company reported second-quarter net profit of INR 13,884 crore, up 15 percent year over year, while revenue increased 11.2 percent to INR 73,188 crore. Its annualized artificial intelligence revenue reached USD 3.1 billion, and operating margin was 24 percent, Tata Consultancy Services said.
Infosys, Adani Ports, ITC and Tech Mahindra also advanced in early trading, while the wider market recovered after the previous session's broad decline. Business Standard linked the positive tone to gains in IT shares and softer oil prices in Asian trading.
