Version 3.6.1 changes validator scaling
According to Canton Network Docs, version 3.6.1 introduced a complete redesign of ACS commitments on October 5, 2026. ACS commitments are records used to confirm the active contract state shared by network participants. The release notes say the new implementation in protocol version 36 decouples validator memory use from the number of hosted parties and their stakeholder groups, addressing restrictions on party growth. The update also added a metric for active stakeholder groups at a participant.
The release was described as a minor update with scalability improvements and other changes. Its database migration guidance states that the lapi_events_party_to_participant migration takes 30 seconds per 1 million parties, giving operators a concrete estimate for one upgrade task.
Q3 fees topped 155 million USD
Canton Network said on October 14, 2026, that the network recorded more than 155 million USD in fees during the third quarter, with a 1.71 million USD daily median. The statement from Canton Network said CC is burned for network services while activity rewards can mint new CC.
A separate report from Yahoo Finance said Canton completed a Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation pilot involving more than 30 firms in the third quarter. The report also said six new Super Validators joined during the quarter and described network statistics as showing less activity during the period, with the decline attributed to application optimization and tokenomics process changes.
