Dijkstra testnet starts with node 11.1.3
U.Today reported on October 23, 2026, that the Dijkstra testnet was open to participants after a respin on October 21, 2026. The network was running protocol version 11 with node version 11.1.3, while development continued toward node version 11.2 and a planned hard fork to protocol version 12. The report said the upgrade includes features such as nested transactions, Plutus V4 and freely withdrawable staking rewards.
The Dijkstra work also includes Ouroboros Leios, a scaling design that processes blocks in parallel. U.Today reported that the initial target is 3 to 5 times the current Praos throughput ceiling of 4.5 kilobytes of transactions per second, with later improvements targeting 10 to 15 times that level.
Epoch 660 logged 1,780,896 transactions
Cardano's recent network activity includes a record 1,780,896 transactions in Epoch 660 between October 6, 2026, and October 11, 2026. TokenPost reported that the epoch generated 337,720 ADA in fees, while daily active addresses fell from 27,248 to 15,977, a 41.36 percent decrease. The figures measure different aspects of network use and do not establish a direct price effect.
Cardano also put its CIP-0113 programmable token standard on mainnet on October 7, 2026. According to the Cardano Foundation, issuers of stablecoins, tokenized funds and bonds can embed KYC, sanctions and transfer rules into native Cardano tokens. The standard required no hard fork and received support from Eternl, GeroWallet, CardanoScan and BloxBean.
