- The Dow Jones Shanghai closed at 485.42 points on November 2, up 1.33 percent from the previous close.

- AI-related comic drama and gaming shares led gains, while precious metals, banking, coal, and oil and gas stocks declined.
The Dow Jones Shanghai ended the November 2 session at 485.42 points, up 6.38 points or 1.33 percent from its previous close of 479.04. Investing.com listed the index as closed, with an intraday range of 478.62 to 487.01 and an opening level of 481.21.
Broad Chinese equity rebound
The move came as mainland Chinese equities recovered. Xinhua reported that the Shanghai Composite rose 1.08 percent to 3,638.03 points, while the Shenzhen Component increased 1.63 percent to 11,010.68 points. Turnover across the two benchmarks reached about 1.8 trillion yuan, compared with 1.69 trillion yuan in the previous session.
The sector pattern was uneven. Xinhua said AI comic drama and gaming shares led the gains, while precious metals, banking, coal, and oil and gas stocks fell. The ChiNext Index gained 1.87 percent, and the STAR Composite Index rose 2.62 percent, pointing to stronger performance in parts of the growth and technology segment than in several traditional industries.
Support measures in focus
Market sentiment was also influenced by expectations of policy support. Reports cited by international market coverage said the People's Bank of China planned to deploy about 100 billion yuan through a new swap facility that would provide additional liquidity to financial firms for market investment. That development formed part of the broader backdrop for the rebound, but the available index data do not establish a direct causal link between the facility and the Dow Jones Shanghai's daily move.
Despite Monday's gain, the index remained close to its reported 52-week low range on Investing.com. The previous session had ended at 479.04 points, according to the ad-hoc-news.de index coverage. Investors therefore continued to balance short-term recovery signals against the recent weakness in Chinese technology and other risk-sensitive shares.
