- DTCC launched its Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026, with Canton and DTCC's private Besu network as the initial integrations.
- Twenty DTC participants have signed agreements to access the service, which can tokenize eligible DTC-custodied securities.
- Investing.com displayed Canton at 0.09660 USD when read on October 31, 2026, with a market capitalization of 3.87 billion USD.
- Institutional participation in the service does not by itself prove that users must buy or hold CC.
The Canton price is in focus after the Depository Trust Company, a subsidiary of DTCC, launched its DTCC Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026. The service is designed to create tokenized representations of securities held in DTC custody and to allow eligible users to convert them between traditional and tokenized forms.
According to DTCC, 20 DTC participants have signed agreements to access the service. The list includes major financial institutions such as J.P. Morgan, Citi, Morgan Stanley, State Street, UBS and Fidelity Investments. DTCC said the tokenized securities retain the ownership rights, investor protections and economic entitlements of their traditional counterparts.
Canton gains a regulated-market use case
The service currently connects to the Canton Network and DTCC's private Besu network. DTCC said additional blockchain networks are planned for 2027. The initial asset scope is linked to a December 2025 SEC no-action letter covering Russell 1000 constituents, exchange-traded funds tracking major indices and U.S. Treasury securities.
That integration is an institutional milestone for Canton, but it should not be confused with a guaranteed increase in demand for the CC token. 24/7 Wall St. reported that institutions can use DTCC's Besu network instead, and that DTCC has not said participants must purchase, hold or transact in CC. The practical effect on token demand therefore depends on how activity is routed and how Canton fees are structured.
Price and market context
When read on October 31, 2026, the Investing.com Canton price page displayed 0.09660 USD. The same page listed a market capitalization of 3.87 billion USD, 24-hour volume of 13.38 million USD and 39.94 billion CC in circulation. Because the page did not provide a verifiable UTC day-close comparison for October 31, no UTC daily percentage change is assigned here.
For investors, the launch strengthens Canton's institutional-use narrative while leaving the token-capture question open. Network adoption, the eventual fee model and the share of DTCC activity handled on Canton will matter more for CC demand than the participant list alone.
