Ethereum price faces ETF outflows as Glamsterdam test is delayed

Ethereum price is being tested by persistent ETF redemptions and a delayed Glamsterdam testnet upgrade. Ether remained below 2,300 US dollars on the checked market page, keeping institutional demand and development milestones in focus.

Ethereum faces two near-term tests

  • US spot Ether ETFs recorded approximately 431.4 million US dollars in net outflows across five sessions through October 30.
  • Ethereum developers postponed the Glamsterdam Hoodi testnet activation while investigating risks linked to proposed gas-accounting changes.
  • Investing.com displayed Ether at 2,263.86 US dollars, with a 52-week range of 1,507.60 to 3,916.08 US dollars.

Ethereum price is facing two competing signals as November begins: institutional demand has weakened, while developers are taking additional time to test the network's next major upgrade. The combination leaves ETH investors watching fund flows and the timetable for Glamsterdam rather than relying on a single near-term catalyst.

ETF outflows remain a market headwind

Coinpaper reported that US spot Ether ETFs recorded approximately 431.4 million US dollars in net outflows across five consecutive sessions ending October 30. The October 30 figure was preliminary, with three of the 11 tracked funds yet to report when the data was checked. The same report said the latest session accounted for approximately 155.7 million US dollars in withdrawals.

A separate report by Yahoo Finance said US spot ETFs had shed about 1.35 billion US dollars in October through October 28. It also reported that wallets dormant for years had moved more than 140 million US dollars in ETH. Exchange deposits can indicate potential selling preparation, but on-chain transfers do not establish that a sale followed.

Glamsterdam testing is delayed

The next major protocol milestone is also uncertain. Ethereum developers postponed the planned October 26 activation of Glamsterdam on the Hoodi testnet while investigating how proposed changes, including EIP-8037 and EIP-8038, could interact with existing smart contracts. The postponement means there is no confirmed Hoodi activation date in the information reviewed, and the mainnet timetable remains unsettled.

Ethereum's official website describes the network as an open system for assets, data and applications, with smart contracts executed by its public code. That longer-term role remains distinct from the short-term trading picture: a delayed testnet does not require existing mainnet users to take action, but it removes a near-term development milestone for market participants to track.

What the market page showed

On the Investing.com page checked for this report, Ether was displayed at 2,263.86 US dollars, with a quoted change of plus 0.44 percent. The page showed a 24-hour volume of 4.55 billion US dollars, a market capitalization of 276.03 billion US dollars and a rank of 2. Its displayed 52-week range was 1,507.60 to 3,916.08 US dollars. The page also showed a seven-day change of minus 2.8134 percent and a one-month change of minus 16.351 percent.

For investors, the immediate focus is whether ETF withdrawals moderate and whether developers publish a revised Hoodi testing schedule. Until those signals improve, the Ethereum price remains exposed to both institutional-flow pressure and uncertainty around the timing of the next upgrade.
