Euro Stoxx 50 gained 48 points, or 0.8 percent, to 6,116 points on October 26. The rebound followed easing oil prices and calmer French bond markets ahead of central-bank decisions, Morningstar reported.
Siemens Energy was the strongest index member, rising 3.8 percent. Santander fell 3.1 percent as investors reassessed its Brazilian exposure after Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won re-election, Reuters via Zonebourse said.
Why is Euro Stoxx 50 higher today?
Brent crude futures fell 0.8 percent to USD 115.81, while WTI declined 1.2 percent to USD 101.99. The pullback offered relief after last week's energy-driven selloff, Hargreaves Lansdown reported.
Germany's Ifo business climate index rose to 90.2 in October from 89.9 in September. The result exceeded the 90.0 forecast. French 10-year yields also eased after Moody's kept France's Aa3 rating unchanged, Reuters via Euronext reported.
