- ForkLog reported that 49.87 million HYPE, or 4.99 percent of the maximum supply, had been burned by October 29.
- Tokenomist lists November 6, 2026 as the next scheduled unlock for core contributors.
- Alea Research said Hyperliquid held 58.0 percent of on-chain perpetual open interest in the third quarter and generated USD 165.5 million in perpetual fees.
Hyperliquid's token supply mechanics are back in focus as cumulative burns approach 5 percent of the maximum HYPE supply and another contributor unlock is scheduled. ForkLog reported on October 29 that 49.87 million HYPE had been permanently removed from circulation, equivalent to 4.99 percent of the maximum supply of 1 billion tokens.
Burn Mechanism Meets Unlock Schedule
ForkLog also reported that 19,700 HYPE were burned on October 28, valued at approximately USD 1.59 million at the time, while estimated daily fees stood at USD 1.69 million. The burn is connected to the protocol's fee-funded buyback mechanism. Hyperliquid's official website says that 99 percent of protocol revenue is directed to the Assistance Fund, which purchases HYPE automatically and burns the tokens held there.
The supply picture remains two-sided. Tokenomist lists November 6, 2026 as the next scheduled HYPE unlock and identifies core contributors as the recipient group. A burn reduces supply, while an unlock can increase the amount available to the market. The eventual market effect depends on the timing of distributions and how recipients use the tokens; the schedule itself does not establish that an equivalent amount will be sold.
Trading Activity Supports the Network
Fundamental activity provides a second reference point for HYPE. In an October 20 report, Alea Research said Hyperliquid accounted for 58.0 percent of on-chain perpetual open interest in the third quarter and 38.6 percent of volume. The report put quarterly perpetual fees at USD 165.5 million, up 2.9 percent from the second quarter, and said USD 146.7 million went to the Assistance Fund after rebates and other allocations.
HYPE Price And Investor Context
On the Investing.com Hyperliquid page read on October 30, the HYPE/USD quote was USD 86.3740, with the live display showing a 6.09 percent gain. The same page showed a USD 22.05 billion market capitalization, USD 1.08 billion in 24-hour volume and a rank of 9. These are live market figures rather than a verified UTC day-over-day comparison, so they should not be read as a daily close return.
For investors, the central question is whether fee-funded burns can keep pace with scheduled emissions while trading activity remains strong. HYPE's price therefore reflects both protocol usage and the changing supply available to the market. The Hyperliquid topic page tracks related developments and future updates.
