- Hyperliquid reported a further 19,700 HYPE burn on October 28.

- A core-contributor unlock is scheduled for November 6, while the amount and actual distribution remain subject to tracker differences.
The Hyperliquid price is being pulled between two opposing supply signals. A further 19,700 HYPE tokens were burned on October 28, while a core-contributor unlock is scheduled for November 6. The combination leaves investors weighing the protocol's fee-funded buyback mechanism against continued vesting-related supply growth.
Investing.com listed HYPE at 86.3740 USD when its page was read on October 29, 2026, with a displayed 24-hour change of plus 6.09 percent. The page showed a 24-hour volume of 1.08 billion USD and market capitalization of 22.05 billion USD. The quoted movement is a rolling 24-hour figure, not a verified UTC day-over-day comparison.
Buybacks continue to remove tokens
U.Today reported that Hyperliquid had permanently removed 49.87 million HYPE, equivalent to nearly 5 percent of the maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. The same report said that 19,700 HYPE were destroyed over the latest 24-hour period against daily protocol fees of 1.69 million USD. It also put lifetime protocol revenue above 1.38 billion USD and revenue over the latest 30 days at 63.52 million USD.
The mechanism matters because the Assistance Fund converts eligible fee revenue into HYPE purchases and the acquired tokens are burned. That links the token's demand support to activity on Hyperliquid's trading infrastructure rather than to a fixed issuance schedule. The project's official website describes HYPE as the network's native token, used for staking, governance, gas fees, trading-fee discounts and asset deployment fees.
Unlock remains the supply risk
Tokenomist lists November 6, 2026, as the next HYPE unlock date for core contributors. The tracker confirms the date but does not establish that every scheduled token will be distributed or sold. Recent reporting has cited a potential tranche of roughly 9.9 million HYPE, while other reports have described a smaller 180,000-token release ahead of the team allocation. Those figures should therefore be treated as schedule and distribution scenarios, not as a confirmed immediate market supply.
The contrast is material for investors. U.Today said the current burn pace would remove about 591,000 HYPE per month, while scheduled vesting could add about 9.9 million tokens monthly. On that comparison, buybacks reduce supply but do not currently offset the full vesting flow. Actual market pressure will depend on fee generation, the timing of distributions and whether recipients hold, stake or sell their tokens.
What investors should watch
Near term, HYPE remains exposed to both protocol activity and the November supply event. Higher trading fees can strengthen the buyback flow, but a scheduled unlock can increase volatility even when no immediate selling follows. The most relevant indicators are daily fee generation, burn volumes, confirmed distributions and the gap between circulating and maximum supply.
