- Hyperliquid has reportedly burned 49.87 million HYPE, equivalent to 4.99% of its maximum supply.
- A November 6 release of 180,000 HYPE for core contributors could add near-term supply pressure.
- Investing.com listed HYPE at 86.894 USD when the page was read for this report.
Hyperliquid price analysis is increasingly focused on the balance between protocol-funded token burns and scheduled distributions. The Investing.com HYPE/USD page listed the token at 86.894 USD when it was read for this report. The page also showed a 24-hour volume of 1.24 billion USD, a market capitalization of 21.75 billion USD and a rank of 9.
The immediate supply narrative is mixed. eGamers.io, reporting on October 29, said on-chain monitoring showed 49.87 million HYPE had been burned. Against a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, that represents 4.99%. The same report said 19,700 HYPE were burned in the preceding 24-hour period, while estimated protocol fees reached 1.69 million USD.
Burn Rate Versus Unlock Pressure
The burn does not automatically make the token deflationary. The eGamers.io report compared the reported daily burn rate with scheduled vesting of roughly 9.9 million HYPE per month for team members and early contributors. At a constant pace, 19,700 tokens per day would amount to about 591,000 tokens over a month, materially below that monthly release estimate.
A separate, nearer-term distribution is scheduled for November 6. Coinotag reported that 180,000 HYPE is planned for core contributors, with a value of about 15.72 million USD based on the price used in that report. Lookonchain likewise reported that Hyperliquid Labs announced the 180,000-token release for distribution to team members on that date.
What HYPE Holders Should Watch
Unstaking activity adds another variable. Coinotag reported that Paradigm unstaked about 2.55 million HYPE over two days, while also noting that no exchange deposit had confirmed an intention to sell. Unstaked tokens can be transferred, but the subsequent destination determines whether they create immediate market supply.
For investors, the key distinction is between cumulative token destruction and the current flow of tokens into circulation. The burn figure supports the long-term tokenomics case, but scheduled vesting and large-holder movements can dominate the shorter-term supply picture. The Hyperliquid website says HYPE is used for staking, governance, gas fees, trading fee discounts and asset deployment fees. It also states that the token has a maximum supply of 1 billion and that purchases by the Assistance Fund are burned.
