The IDX Composite ended Friday's session at 5,057.05, down 0.80 percent, or 41.01 points. The decline followed a 3.49 percent drop in the previous session and left the benchmark under renewed selling pressure as Indonesian equities tracked a broadly weaker Asian market backdrop.

Databoks, citing Indonesia Stock Exchange data, reported that the Nikkei fell 2.12 percent and the Shanghai Composite declined 1.44 percent during the Asian session. The Straits Times also weakened, while the Hang Seng rose, underscoring a mixed but generally cautious regional setting rather than a uniform market move.

Broad sector pressure remains

Friday's weakness was broad. According to Databoks, nine of the 11 IDX-IC sectors closed lower. Transportation and logistics was the weakest group, falling 3.13 percent, followed by raw materials at 2.84 percent and infrastructure at 1.96 percent. Property and industrial stocks also declined by more than 1 percent.

Healthcare provided the strongest support, rising 0.76 percent, while finance gained 0.16 percent. Market breadth nevertheless remained negative: 523 stocks closed lower, compared with 187 gainers and 81 unchanged stocks. Trading amounted to 37.63 billion shares across 1.19 million transactions, with a total value of IDR 11.65 trillion.

Investors weigh several risks

An earlier Trading Economics report republished by TradingView identified weaker US stock futures, persistent political tensions, rupiah weakness, foreign net selling and inflation concerns as factors weighing on sentiment during Friday trading. It also pointed to oil prices above 100 US dollars per barrel as an additional fiscal concern. These factors provide context for the risk-off tone, but the daily close itself reflects the completed trading session and does not establish a single cause.
