MOEX Russia drops 12 points at midday after rate decision

Why did MOEX Russia fall after the rate decision?

The central bank left borrowing costs unchanged at 14 percent. The decision matched the expectation of all 23 experts surveyed by TASS, but the market focused on the regulator's guidance and inflation risks, Finance Mail reported.

Shares had risen earlier as investors awaited the decision. MOEX Russia opened at 2,440.62 points and reached 2,441.06 points at 9:05 a.m. MSK, according to TASS.
