- The MOEX Russia Index stood at 2,499.79 points, up 0.30 percent, in an intraday snapshot timestamped 17:50:31 Berlin time.
- The Moscow Exchange calculates the index on weekday trading days until 23:50 Moscow time, so the October 30 session was still open during the reporting window.
- Earlier trading was volatile, with the index moving from an initial gain to a small decline before recovering.
The MOEX Russia Index was trading at 2,499.79 points, up 0.30 percent, in a market snapshot timestamped 17:50:31 Berlin time on Friday, October 30. The figure was an intraday reading and should not be treated as the session close. The Investing.com quote page also showed a daily range of 2,482.41 to 2,511.16 points.
Trading session remained open
The Moscow Exchange identifies IMOEX as a capitalization-weighted index of liquid Russian shares and lists the index code, Reuters code .IMOEX and ISIN RU000A0JP7K5. Its current schedule states that, on weekday trading days, the index is calculated from 07:00 to 23:50 Moscow time. Because Moscow is one hour ahead of Berlin on October 30, the calculation window extended to 22:50 Berlin time. The reporting slot therefore fell within the active session.
Earlier movement was uneven
Trading had not followed a straight line. TASS reported that the MOEX Russia Index was at 2,497.92 points, up 0.22 percent, at 09:00 Moscow time. By 09:17 Moscow time, it had moved to 2,487.35 points, down 0.20 percent, before reaching 2,498.28 points, up 0.24 percent, at the start of the morning trading session at 07:00 Moscow time. These observations indicate intraday fluctuation, but they do not establish a single cause for the later move.
For investors, the key distinction is between the current level and the final daily result. The 2,499.79-point reading provides a late-session reference for October 30, while the official closing value can only be assessed after the Moscow trading and index-calculation window has ended. The next update will therefore depend on the eventual session close rather than on this intermediate snapshot. Further coverage is available on the MOEX Russia topic page.
