New L1 documentation dated October 22, 2026
BNB Chain documentation describes New L1 as an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed for sub-second finality and predictable transaction inclusion. The documentation says the network is operating as a multi-validator development network with real block production and end-to-end finality as of October 22, 2026.
The design assigns BNB as the gas asset, meaning it pays transaction fees, and also gives it roles in staking and governance. BNB is bridged from BNB Smart Chain through a native bridge that remains in development, and the documentation specifies that New L1 will issue no separate token. Public testing and a mainnet are planned stages in the project documentation, rather than live network endpoints on October 22, 2026.
