- The OMXS30 closed at 3,271.40 on October 30, down 0.29 percent from the previous session.
- Healthcare outperformed, while basic materials were the weakest major sector.
- AstraZeneca gained after stronger-than-expected core earnings, while Epiroc and ABB declined.
The OMXS30 finished the Friday, October 30, 2026 session at 3,271.40 points, a decline of 9.47 points or 0.29 percent from the previous close of 3,280.86. Nasdaq's historical index page records the session value, daily high of 3,277.08 and low of 3,251.81. The session was a shortened trading day in Stockholm.
The closing level and percentage move were reported by Placera, while the index history is available from Nasdaq. Based on the two Nasdaq closing values, the index lost 0.29 percent on the day.
Healthcare leads as materials lag
Sector performance was mixed. Healthcare was the strongest of the major sectors tracked in the report, rising 1.9 percent, while basic materials fell 1.5 percent. The result left the benchmark lower despite gains in several defensive and healthcare-related names.
AstraZeneca was among the session's strongest OMXS30 constituents, rising 4.6 percent after reporting higher-than-expected core earnings per share for the third quarter. The company also announced a cost-reduction program that is expected to involve up to 2 billion US dollars in one-time costs and deliver annual pre-tax savings of 1.5 billion US dollars at full effect. These figures and the share move were reported by Placera.
Reports drive individual moves
Essity gained 2.2 percent and Loomis rose 3.2 percent after its third-quarter adjusted EBITA exceeded expectations by 5 percent, according to the same report. On the weaker side, Epiroc declined 3.3 percent and ABB lost 3.0 percent. Stora Enso fell 3.3 percent after reporting a slightly better-than-expected adjusted operating result but warning of subdued demand and higher input costs in the fourth quarter.
The session's index decline therefore masked a clear split between healthcare and selected earnings winners on one side, and materials and industrial laggards on the other. The OMXS30's next trading session will follow the weekend. Further coverage is available on the OMXS30 topic page.
