The OMX Stockholm 30 finished Thursday's session at 3,280.86, gaining 0.41 percent, or 13.53 points, from the previous close. The index traded between 3,254.67 and 3,289.44 during the session, according to Investing.com. Stockholm trading ended at 17:30 local time, and the advance extended the OMXS30's winning run to five sessions.
Healthcare and selected leaders support gains
Placera reported that healthcare was the strongest of the major industry sectors, rising 0.93 percent, while consumer staples was the weakest, falling 0.48 percent. Within the OMXS30, Saab B gained 3.2 percent and EQT rose 2.3 percent. Volvo B and Lifco each declined 0.5 percent.
Investing.com likewise identified healthcare, basic materials and industrials as the leading sectors. Saab rose 3.22 percent to 676.30 Swedish kronor, EQT advanced 2.32 percent to 308.90 Swedish kronor and Boliden gained 1.96 percent to 508.80 Swedish kronor. The report said Volvo B, Lifco and Alfa Laval were the weakest OMXS30 constituents, while the broader Stockholm market recorded 355 advancing and 355 declining stocks, with 80 unchanged.
Earnings and macro backdrop
Thursday's trading took place against a busy Swedish and international news flow. Placera reported that investors were processing the previous day's Federal Reserve decision and quarterly reports from Alphabet and Microsoft, while the European Central Bank left its policy rate unchanged. Boliden's adjusted operating profit exceeded expectations, supporting its shares, while weaker or mixed company reports produced sharper moves outside the index.
EFN described the session as uneven at the start but stronger toward the close. For investors, the combination of a narrow index gain, sector leadership from healthcare and strength in selected industrial and materials names points to a constructive close without implying a broad-based advance across all constituents.
