The PSI 20 finished Friday, October 30, 2026, 0.47% lower at the close of trading in Lisbon. The decline followed a session in which losses in financials, industrials and basic materials outweighed gains among selected consumer and energy stocks.
Financials lead the decline
Investing.com reported that the PSI fell 0.47% at the Lisbon close, with the PSI Financials Gross Return, PSI Industrials Gross Return and PSI Basic Materials Gross Return sectors among the weaker groups. Declining shares outnumbered advancing stocks 15 to 9, while five ended unchanged.
NOS gains as BCP retreats
NOS was the strongest performer among the reported PSI constituents, rising 2.36% to 5.21 euros. Jeronimo Martins added 0.93% to 18.46 euros and Galp Energia gained 0.63% to 20.78 euros.
Banco Comercial Portugues was the weakest of the named index constituents, falling 2.49% to 1.08 euros. Mota Engil dropped 1.99% to 4.52 euros, while CTT Correios de Portugal declined 1.47% to 5.35 euros and reached a 52-week low, according to Investing.com.
Market breadth remains negative
The session's negative breadth shows that the index decline was broad across Lisbon-listed shares rather than concentrated in a single reported constituent. The available closing account provides a snapshot of the day's leadership and laggards but does not establish that any individual stock move alone caused the index result.
