Why did the RTS Index rise after the rate decision?
The index opened at 947.73 points, up 0.46 percent from the previous close of 943.41 points, according to TASS. It fell to 939.21 points by 1:30 p.m. MSK after the rate decision, when the central bank kept policy unchanged, TASS reported.
The central bank said underlying price growth remained between 5 percent and 6 percent. It also raised its 2026 inflation forecast to 7.1-7.6 percent from 6-7 percent, according to the Bank of Russia.
