The Shanghai Composite closed at 3,648 points on October 27, down 49 points, or 1.3 percent, as technology shares led a broad selloff. China's industrial profits rose 15.5 percent in the first nine months, but the data did not halt the decline, Xinhua reported.

The market also absorbed concerns over export restrictions and weak domestic demand. A post-close policy update said China would advance part of the 2027 local-government debt quota, according to Sina Finance.
