Solana (SOL) recorded 1.88 million unique active addresses on October 9, 2026, the highest level in 13 months, according to Gate News. The Solana price is 103.712 USD as of October 23, 2026, down 4.19 percent compared with the UTC daily close of October 22, 2026, according to Investing.com.
Active addresses reached 1.88 million
The October 9 figure counts unique account addresses that sent or received at least one transaction during a day. An address is not the same as a person, because one user can control multiple addresses and automated trading can create many accounts. Gate News attributed the metric to ChainCatcher, SolanaFloor and Blockworks data.
The same report said Santiment measured a 124 percent increase in network growth metrics from early September and an average of 1.71 million new wallets per day. Those figures use a different tracking method from the 1.88 million address count and therefore describe separate measures of activity.
Alpenglow targets 150-millisecond finality
Solana's Alpenglow consensus upgrade activated on October 21, 2026. The change replaced TowerBFT, the network's earlier voting system, and targets transaction finality in about 150 milliseconds instead of about 12.8 seconds, according to PR Newswire. Finality is the point at which a transaction can no longer be reversed.
The upgrade was completed at slot 459,653,000, with 446 of 654 participating validators certifying the handover, according to Crypto News Australia. The 150-millisecond figure is a target, while actual network performance can vary with operating conditions.
Spot funds post a 0.6 million USD inflow
U.S. spot Solana funds recorded a 0.6 million USD net inflow on October 21, 2026, with Morgan Stanley's Solana Trust supplying the full daily gain, according to TokenPost. The same report said the funds had a negative five-session balance of 31.2 million USD, while cumulative net inflows since launch remained at 1.54 billion USD.
That flow data covers exchange-traded funds, which hold investment exposure to SOL rather than measuring direct transfers on the Solana network. The 1.88 million active-address figure and the fund-flow figures therefore describe different parts of the market.
