- Investing.com displayed USDC at 1.0010 USD on October 30, with a narrow intraday range of 1.0009 to 1.0011 USD.
- Circle reported 71.0 billion USDC in circulation as of October 26 and says the token is backed 1:1 by highly liquid cash and cash-equivalent assets.
The USDC price remained close to its dollar peg as the token approaches a major European regulatory milestone. Investing.com displayed USDC at 1.0010 USD at 07:14:11 Berlin time on October 30, 2026. The page showed an intraday range of 1.0009 to 1.0011 USD, a 24-hour volume of 12.73 billion USD and a market capitalization of 71.26 billion USD.
For a dollar-referenced stablecoin, the narrow range is the central investor signal: USDC is designed to preserve value rather than deliver the speculative upside associated with unpegged cryptoassets. The displayed 52-week range was 0.9991 to 1.0023 USD. The figures describe the market data shown on the page and are not a separate measure of the token's reserve coverage.
EU supervision starts November 12
According to TokenPost, the European Banking Authority classified USDC on October 14 as the first significant e-money token among 45 notified under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. Direct EBA supervision is scheduled to begin on November 12.
The change will place specified safeguards under EU-level supervision, including the issuer's own funds and reserve assets, liquidity requirements, and recovery and redemption plans. France's Autorite de Controle Prudentiel et de Resolution will continue to oversee areas such as governance and outsourcing. TokenPost also reported that the existing rule for significant issuers requires at least 60 percent of reserves to be held as bank deposits, while Circle has asked the European Commission to replace that fixed share with a broader liquidity standard. The requested change had not taken effect in the report.
Reserves remain the key anchor
Circle states that USDC is redeemable 1:1 for US dollars and backed by highly liquid cash and cash-equivalent assets. The issuer's page reported 71.0 billion USDC in circulation as of October 26, 2026, and said the token was natively issued on 38 blockchain networks. Those issuer figures use a different date from the market data displayed by Investing.com.
For investors, the USDC price itself offers limited directional information while the peg holds. The more relevant developments are the quality and accessibility of reserves, redemption arrangements and the regulatory treatment of the issuer. The upcoming EBA supervision therefore represents an infrastructure and compliance milestone, not a conventional price catalyst.
