XRP (XRP) faces a delayed XRP Ledger cleanup upgrade, now projected for November 4, 2026, after validator support fell below the required 80 percent. Coinpaper reported that the amendment missed its expected October 23 activation after support briefly dropped to 26 of 35 trusted validators.
Validator support reset the November 4 timetable
The affected fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment requires more than 80 percent support for two consecutive weeks. According to Coinpaper, support recovered to 29 votes on October 21, 2026, but the interruption reset the approval countdown. The report gives November 4, 2026, at approximately 14:46 UTC as the projected activation time if the required support continues. The package includes corrections for token permissions, automated market maker operations, escrow handling, transaction signatures and Single Asset Vault calculations. An amendment is a network rule change that validators must approve before it activates.
The upgrade does not activate the XRP Ledger lending system by itself. Crypto.news reported that the LendingProtocol proposal had 19 supporting validators on October 19, 2026, while SingleAssetVault had 21, below the 29 votes required in that report's validator snapshot.
Spot XRP ETFs posted 1.84 million USD of outflows
