The Zcash price stood at 1,248.24 US dollars on the Investing.com ZEC/USD page when it was read on Nov. 1, 2026. The same page showed a market capitalization of 21.11 billion US dollars, 24-hour volume of 548.96 million US dollars, a rank of 10 and 16.94 million ZEC in circulation. These figures describe the displayed market snapshot, not a verified UTC day-close comparison.
The immediate protocol catalyst is Network Upgrade 7, or NU7. According to TECHi, developers set the mainnet activation height at block 3,543,405 on Oct. 21. Because Zcash upgrades activate at a block height rather than at a fixed clock time, the calendar estimate is around Nov. 5-6, 2026.
What NU7 changes
NU7 is designed to reduce target block spacing from 75 seconds to 25 seconds under ZIP 218. That should shorten the average wait for confirmations, while the per-block subsidy is recalibrated so faster block production does not automatically triple the rate of new ZEC issuance. TECHi also reports that 60 percent of transaction fees will be directed to a Network Sustainability Mechanism reserve, with the remaining 40 percent going to miners immediately.
The upgrade also has a specific migration risk. TECHi estimates that about 22,300 ZEC remains in the legacy Sprout pool. Once NU7 disables version-4 transactions at the activation height, funds that have not been moved from Sprout can become unspendable. Node operators likewise need NU7-compatible software before the specified block.
ETF flows remain difficult to read
Recent fund data provide a mixed backdrop. TokenPost said one daily flow table for Oct. 19-23 showed 41.1 million US dollars of net inflows into Grayscale's Zcash ETF. However, a separate calculation based on changes in shares outstanding and net asset value indicated 10.87 million US dollars of net outflows through Oct. 21. The divergence means the weekly figure should be treated cautiously rather than as a definitive measure of investor demand.
For investors, the Zcash price is therefore approaching a binary-looking but not risk-free event: NU7 may improve confirmation speed and alter fee economics, while implementation, wallet migration and the interpretation of ETF flows remain important variables. The upgrade schedule is a protocol milestone, not a guarantee of a particular market reaction.
