Doosan Enerbility stock advances on new NuScale SMR contract

Doosan Enerbility signed a contract with NuScale Power on October 29, 2026, to manufacture the first article of the Upper Reactor Coolant System for a commercial small modular reactor. The announcement was made by Doosan Group.

From materials to reactor components

The contract covers a key component forming the upper section of the reactor pressure vessel, which contains coolant under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. Doosan Enerbility will manufacture it at its reactor production facility in Changwon, South Korea.

The agreement broadens a relationship that began with material preparation. Doosan Enerbility signed a separate contract with NuScale in 2023 to manufacture materials for the company's small modular reactor. The latest step moves the partnership into fabrication of reactor components for commercial deployment.

A step toward commercial production

NuScale's design became the first small modular reactor design to receive approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, according to Doosan Group. The manufacturing contract therefore shifts the focus from design approval and preparation toward producing physical reactor hardware.

Doosan Enerbility said it plans to strengthen its supply chain and manufacturing readiness as the program advances. For investors, follow-on orders and the pace of production will be important indicators of whether the partnership develops into a broader commercial manufacturing stream.
