- The revised supervisory requirement takes effect on January 1, 2027.
- FinecoBank's reported capital ratios were well above the levels set by the ECB.
FinecoBank's regulatory capital outlook improved after the European Central Bank reduced its Pillar 2 Requirement, according to MarketScreener's report of Alliance News. The ECB decision was reported on October 22, 2026, and followed the 2026 Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process.
Lower requirement starts in 2027
The Pillar 2 requirement was reduced from 2.00% to 1.90%, an improvement of 10 basis points. The revised requirement will apply from January 1, 2027. FinecoBank must meet consolidated capital requirements of 8.60% for the CET1 ratio, 10.45% for the Tier 1 ratio and 12.93% for total capital.
Capital buffer remains substantial
As of June 30, FinecoBank reported a CET1 ratio of 23.18%. Its Tier 1 and total capital ratios were both 30.90%, leaving the bank well above the levels required by the ECB. The lower supervisory hurdle therefore provides regulatory headroom, although its effect on future distributions or returns will depend on the bank's capital allocation decisions and operating performance.
