Forvia reported broadly stable third-quarter sales on November 2, 2026, and said its performance improved relative to global automotive production. The company reported consolidated sales of 5.079 billion euros, with organic sales down 0.6 percent, while automotive production declined 1.6 percent. The Forvia release published through GlobeNewswire said the group outperformed global automotive production by 100 basis points.
Sales momentum improves
Regional performance was mixed. Organic sales rose 4.1 percent in Europe and 0.4 percent in North America, while sales in the rest of Asia increased 13.6 percent. China remained the main drag, with organic sales down 17.2 percent as production by international automakers stayed weak.
Electronics organic sales increased 7.0 percent and Clarion grew 22.0 percent. Lighting declined 7.8 percent organically, while Seating fell 4.4 percent, although Forvia said the Seating decline was about half the first-half rate. The company continued cost-reduction initiatives and its Lighting transformation plan amid inflation in raw materials, energy and electronic components.
Debt reduction remains central
Forvia said all required regulatory approvals for the sale of its Interiors business to Apollo had been secured. Closing is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, with proceeds allocated to debt reduction. The transaction is expected to reduce net debt by more than 1.0 billion euros and gross debt by more than 1.4 billion euros, supporting the group's ability to address most of its 2027 maturities.
Forvia confirmed its 2026 targets of 20 billion to 21 billion euros in sales at constant exchange rates, an operating margin of 6.0 percent to 6.5 percent, net cash flow of at least 3.0 percent of sales and a net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 1.5 times at year-end. The next scheduled corporate event is the full-year 2026 results announcement on February 26, 2027.
