Garanti BBVA has secured EUR 400 million in diversified payment rights financing, according to a BBVA announcement published on October 27, 2026. The transaction was arranged in international markets under the bank's foreign borrowing program and has maturities of 1,907 and 2,547 days.
Longer-term funding diversification
The financing is structured through the bank's Diversified Payment Rights, or DPR, program. The structure is based on existing and future foreign-currency payment orders and is intended to diversify Garanti BBVA's wholesale funding sources while strengthening access to longer-term financing.
BBVA described the transaction as Garanti BBVA's first DPR financing since 2019. The bank's CEO Mahmut Akten said the transaction would diversify funding sources and strengthen international partnerships. Those statements describe management's strategic view and do not by themselves establish an effect on earnings or the share price.
Allocation to smaller businesses
Of the financing, EUR 50 million is designated for small and medium-sized businesses owned or managed by women. A further EUR 50 million is intended for micro, small and medium-sized businesses owned or managed by entrepreneurs under 35. BBVA said the programs are designed to support investment, growth and access to finance.
