- Goertek will keep Goertek Microelectronics as a subsidiary after ending the proposed Hong Kong listing.
- The microelectronics unit remains focused on MEMS devices, microsystem modules, semiconductors and sensing interaction.
- Goertek reported higher first-half revenue and profit for 2026, while the canceled listing changes the subsidiary's capital-markets path.
Goertek's board approved the termination of its plan to spin off Goertek Microelectronics and list the subsidiary on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on October 12, 2026. 36Kr reported the decision on October 13, citing Goertek's announcement and the company's explanation that changing external conditions and the development plans of Goertek and its subsidiary were considered.
Subsidiary remains within Goertek
Goertek Microelectronics will remain a Goertek subsidiary after the planned transaction was canceled. The company said the unit would continue expanding in sensing interaction and semiconductor businesses, while the termination would not have a major adverse effect on production, operations or financial condition.
The decision closes a second attempted route to a public listing for the microelectronics business. The unit had previously pursued a ChiNext listing before switching to Hong Kong in January 2025. The latest move leaves Goertek with full ownership control over the subsidiary's future financing and strategic development.
First-half earnings provide context
Goertek reported revenue of CNY 40.046 billion for the first half of 2026, up 6.65 percent from the same period a year earlier, according to the 36Kr report. Net profit rose 3.46 percent to CNY 1.466 billion, while net profit excluding non-recurring gains and losses increased 8 percent to CNY 1.116 billion.
The figures provide an operating backdrop for investors assessing the listing decision. Keeping the subsidiary inside the group preserves direct control over its research, manufacturing and commercial expansion, but also leaves Goertek responsible for funding the unit without the additional capital-markets route that a Hong Kong offering could have provided.
Goertek's operating profile
Goertek develops and manufactures electro-acoustic and optical components, electronic accessories and intelligent consumer devices, including wearables, virtual-reality products, audio equipment and optical modules. Its activities also cover sensors, microphones, speakers, vibration motors and other components, with operations centered in Weifang, China. The company's integrated consumer-electronics and component model gives its microelectronics business a direct link to the wider product and manufacturing platform.
