GrainCorp stock: Guidance holds as systems rollout moves to 2027

- GrainCorp kept its FY26 underlying EBITDA guidance range at AUD 200 million to AUD 240 million.
- The first systems transformation release was moved to the second quarter of calendar 2027.
- First-half underlying EBITDA and statutory net profit were below the prior-year levels.
GrainCorp's FY26 outlook remains unchanged, while the company has pushed the first release of its systems transformation into the second quarter of calendar 2027. The developments were outlined in a 26 October 2026 analysis by Kalkine, based on GrainCorp's September trading update.
Guidance stays in place
Management expects FY26 underlying EBITDA around the midpoint of its previously announced AUD 200 million to AUD 240 million range. Underlying net profit after tax remains guided at AUD 20 million to AUD 50 million. The guidance includes approximately AUD 5 million in restructuring costs linked to a review of the Agribusiness operating model, which affected approximately 80 roles.
GrainCorp also targets AUD 12 million in annualised transformation benefits by the end of FY26. Its longer-term objective is an AUD 20 million to AUD 30 million increase in through-the-cycle EBITDA by the end of FY28. These are management targets rather than reported earnings outcomes.
Technology spending moves later
The first systems release covers Nutrition and Energy and has been moved to after harvest in the second quarter of calendar 2027. Management projects FY27 spending of AUD 30 million to AUD 35 million for this stage. The timing change and the cost of implementation remain relevant for investors assessing when efficiency benefits may appear.
The company has deferred the Agribusiness-related second release while it focuses on operating-model changes. This makes execution, spending discipline and the delivery of planned savings important issues for the next reporting update.
First-half earnings set the context
For the first half of FY26, GrainCorp reported underlying EBITDA of AUD 136 million, compared with AUD 202 million in the first half of FY25. Statutory net profit after tax was AUD 5 million, versus AUD 58 million a year earlier, while underlying net profit after tax declined to AUD 33 million from AUD 69 million. Kalkine attributed the pressure to global grain oversupply and lower trading opportunities.
The company remains exposed to crop conditions, export demand, logistics, commodity-price volatility and oilseed processing margins. Its scheduled FY26 results will provide a further test of the guidance and the cost implications of the transformation program.
