- MLC Asset Management selected Ninety One's 4Factor Emerging Markets Equity strategy after reviewing the emerging-markets equity landscape.
- The mandate gives Insignia's investment platform access to a strategy spanning companies listed or based in emerging markets.
- Ninety One said the partnership reflects growing interest in emerging-market equities among Australian investors.
MLC Asset Management, part of Insignia Financial, awarded multiple mandates to Ninety One's 4Factor Emerging Markets Equity strategy, according to a statement published by AdviserVoice on October 27, 2026. The decision gives Insignia's MLC platform a new external manager for emerging-markets equities.
New mandate broadens manager mix
The selected strategy is managed by Archie Hart and Varun Laijawalla and invests across companies listed or based in emerging markets, as well as businesses with significant economic exposure to those economies. Its approach combines growth, quality, value and momentum exposures and seeks long-term excess returns through bottom-up stock selection.
MLC said it chose the strategy after a review of the emerging-markets equity landscape. Stanley Yeo, MLC Asset Management's head of equities, said the firm's multi-manager portfolio had delivered strong alpha and described Ninety One's approach and asset-class expertise as important to outcomes for members and clients.
Scale supports strategic context
Ninety One said its 4Factor Emerging Markets Equity strategy had AUD 22.8 billion in assets and sat within a broader AUD 48 billion emerging-markets equity platform as of the announcement. Ninety One reported AUD 345.5 billion in total assets under management as of September 30, 2026. The figures describe the investment manager and strategy, not Insignia Financial's own assets.
For investors, the mandate points to continued use of external specialist managers within MLC's investment architecture. It also links Insignia's Australian wealth platform with a manager whose offering is focused on emerging-market companies and global growth opportunities.
